Parents,

Yesterday emotions ran high on the Patriotic Wolves team as our eighth graders were dismissed from Wakefield Middle School for the last time. Our pod area was full of tears, hugs, and many smiles. This year our students grew so much, and worked diligently to succeed in our classes. Over the past year our students learned, laughed, and hopefully have many great memories from their time on the Patriotic Wolves team.

Though the Patriotic Wolves teachers take great pride in our students’ many accomplishments, we understand the important role you, their parents, play in our students’ success. We’d like to thank you, our Patriotic Wolves parents, for your tremendous support this year. You helped make sure assignments were complete and turned in on time, picked your student up from our after-school tutoring sessions, and supported our team celebrations. Thank you!

We’ve been so fortunate to have great parent volunteers who have helped our team celebrations, and are so extraordinarily appreciative of the efforts of amazing team parents. Thank you to Ms. Kyle and to the many wonderful team parents who supported our team this year!

Lastly, we’ve uploaded a collection pictures from throughout the year. You and your student may download the pictures online at http://www.misuraca.net/2010-2011-memories/. While the memories will last a lifetime, the pictures will only be online for a limited time.

From our Patriotic Wolves family to yours, we sincerely thank you for your tremendous support this year, and hope you and your student have a fun, safe, and relaxing summer. We’re confident that our students will be successful in the future, and wish them all the best in high school and beyond!

Sincerely,

Mr. Dembrow, Ms. Dougherty, Mr. Misuraca, and Ms. Overby

Parents,

Last week students worked on math projects related to real-life situations, presented awesome Science presentations, fine tuned their history quiz bowl skills, and worked hard in Language Arts. We are so overwhelmingly proud of our Patriotic Wolves students, and thank our “Patriotic Parents” for helping making this year so great. Thank you!

General Team Information:
Yearbooks: Yearbooks were distributed in homeroom on Friday. Starting Monday, June 6th, a limited supply of extra yearbooks will be sold in the cafeteria beginning at 10:30 AM. Students interested in purchasing a yearbook should bring $45 cash and ask their third period teacher for a pass to the cafeteria at 10:30 am.

We ask for your help in making sure all textbooks are returned to the correct teacher ASAP, and to make sure your student has turned in any overdue library books.

The 8th grade awards ceremony is on Friday, June 10th and runs from 8:30-10:15 AM. Parents are welcome to attend, and we encourage parents to arrive early, as parking is limited. The ceremony is similar to your student’s sixth and seventh grade awards ceremony, and is not a formal graduation. While we’re so extraordinarily proud of our students’ many accomplishments this year, unfortunately only a small number of students will be recognized on June 10th.

Parents,

We hope you and your student had a relaxing weekend! On Monday we begin the final quarter of your student’s middle school career, and have just over a month to go before students take their first EOG (End of Grade) exam. Please help us have a successful remainder of the school year by making sure your student continues to work hard and stay focused both in school and at home. As always, we appreciate your support!

General Team Information:
Ms. Adamson and Ms. Overby provided students an order form for Math EOG/EOG review books that may be purchased from the school. While optional, we highly encourage students to purchase the books to help review math concepts prior to May’s EOG/EOC exams.

Report cards will be distributed in homeroom on Thursday, April 7th. Please review your student’s academic progress in each class, sign the report card envelope, and have your student return it to his or her homeroom teacher on Friday. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with your student first, and then email the teacher directly.

Friday, April 8th is an early release day, and students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. School will resume on Monday.
