Patriotic Wolves Weekly Email Blast: Week of December 14th

Parents,

We can’t help but recognize the excitement in the air as we near our holiday vacation.  Last week students were tasked with learning challenging material, and they rose to the occasion and worked hard to successfully complete their assignments.  Please take some time this weekend to review your student’s progress reports and create an action plan if you notice your student isn’t turning in assignments.  We still have many months left of school, and it’s not too late for your student to learn and practice good study and work habits.  Thank you for supporting our efforts!

General Team Information:
On Friday students received progress reports from each of their classes.  Please take some time this weekend to review your student’s academic progress, sign the progress reports, and have your student return them on Monday.  If you have a question or concern regarding an assignment or grade, please first discuss the issue with your student, and then email the teacher directly.

Our team parents are still collecting donations (a suggested $5 a student) to support our upcoming Winter Celebration.  We hope to collect enough to provide a lunch, drink, and snacks, but we are still far from our goal.  If you haven’t already received it, you may read Ms. Gleeson’s most recent letter online.  We need both monetary donations and parent volunteers to help serve food.  Money should be sealed in an envelope and turned into Ms. Starr.  The entire Patriotic Wolves team appreciates your support!

This week your student received a permission slip that is required in order to watch the movie during our team Winter Celebration next Friday.  Please sign the permission slip and have your student turn it into Ms. Starr on Monday.  Extra permission slips are available online for download (PDF).

Next week Wakefield Middle School is collecting canned and boxed food items for our annual food drive.  Students are encouraged to bring in canned and boxed food items to support the Wakefield community.

It is great to see the majority of my students doing an awesome job with their Think-Tac-Toe activities.   Students have been working diligently in class on analyzing music, writing poems, creating news articles and more.   Students should be reading a book of their choice for pleasure and logging it properly each night.  A special thanks to students and parents who purchased items on my Book Fair wish list.

Please check your email periodically for the directions and deadlines regarding this assignment.
